ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II

Control Concepts is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and apply their electrical engineering expertise as an Electrical Engineer II. This position will be responsible continuation engineering and test fixture development, test fixture programming, testing lab certifications, and documentation with a growth path to product development including advanced schematic design and PCB layout for our digital power controllers.

Control Concepts is a privately held, Minnesota based, company which designs and manufactures advanced industrial power controllers.  Our controllers regulate the flow of electricity in industrial manufacturing processes and are sold to OEMs, distributors, and end users in several diverse applications including:

Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment

  • Industrial Furnaces & Ovens
  • Glass Manufacturing
  • Heat Treating
  • Water Purification / Chlorination

The Electrical Engineer II position has a high degree of visibility and opportunity within our company.  This individual will use their technical knowledge and expertise in product support, enhance, and design test fixtures for our AC and DC power controllers and supplies using a mix of analog and digital design. The engineer will have a full range of responsibility from concept to prototype to production, including system design, schematic capture, board layout, board validation, and programming. The position requires a creative circuit designer that understands linear circuits and microprocessor design for industrial applications.

Duties:

  • Develop analog and digital hardware for use in test fixtures to verify operation of circuit boards used in SCR and Switching power supplies.
  • Schematic capture and PCB design of multilayer circuit boards.
  • Test fixture firmware development using C.
  • Test fixture software development using C#.
  • Obsolescence management in legacy products while understanding “copy exactly” requirements for the semiconductor industry.
  • BOM creation and maintenance.
  • SNF and SPS processes used to communicate changes with semiconductor industry customers.
  • DFM review with manufacturing and engineering team.
  • Certification submittals E.G. CE, UL, SCCR
  • Customer support as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Traveling as required.

Requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3 – 5 years practical experience.
  • Design experience using a mix of digital and analog circuits.
  • Fluent in schematic capture and PCB layout using mainstream software such as OrCad, Mentor, Altium, etc.
  • Excellent problem solver with a high degree of engineering curiosity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment of an emerging growth company.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the operations and use of Microsoft based communications.

Preferred:

  • Up to 600 VAC PCB layout experience.
  • Firmware development using C.
  • Software development using C#.

Compensation:

Salaried position: $XX Annually (commensurate with experience)

Bonus: Eligible for discretionary bonus based upon individual performance and company profitability ranging from 0% - 20% of salary.

Salary Range:

         $100,000-115,000
