ASSEMBLER II

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform repetitive mechanical and electronic production assembly work to incorporate into our SCR Power Controllers.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Assembly and/or installation of various mechanical or electronic components and sub-assemblies where operations and sequence are specified by blueprints, schematics, wire cards, diagrams or previous assembly shop practice.
• Run quality checks on our higher complexity controllers and log results into our quality reporting system.
• Follows established procedure in assembly operations and works under limited supervision.  Work performed may involve training for more advanced assembly jobs.
• Typical operations would include running in wire, soldering wires to terminals and plugs, installing relays, etc.
• Testing boards and relays, operate test fixtures.
• Pulling kits for contract assembly.
• Perform incoming inspection on parts.
• Follow written quality control documentation.
• Use of basic hand and power tools (torque tools, sockets, screw guns, etc.)
• Performs a repetitive operation requiring above average physical skill.
• May provide work instruction to others.

Skills/Qualifications/Requirements/Additional Elements of the Position:

• Have a basic understanding of electronics/electricity.
• Ability to solder – familiarity with surface mount technology a plus
• Must be proficient, able to read wire diagrams/schematics, follow BOMs and other documentation within our ERP software in order to assemble quality-built units while under limited supervision.
• Ability to work with very small components up to larger aluminum heat sinks.
• This role requires fine motor skills, dexterity and may require color blindness testing.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance is required.
• Able to work overtime when necessary.
• Requires sitting for most of the day.
• Repetitive work.
• Able to lift 70 pounds repeatedly.
